Well, it finally happened. Matthew Stafford threw an interception.
He had gone eight straight games without a pick, throwing an NFL-record 28 straight touchdown passes before throwing an interception. He broke that record, which was previously held by Tom Brady, on the Los Angeles Rams’ opening drive against the Carolina Panthers.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementBut on their second drive, after getting all the way inside the 10-yard line, Stafford threw a pick on a ball that was deflected by Derrick Brown and intercepted by former Rams safety Nick Scott in the end zone.
Stafford had thrown 318 straight passes without a pick, snapping yet another remarkable streak. It was only his third interception of the season compared to 31 touchdown passes, which leads the NFL.
