Tuesday, December 2nd

TrillerTV+, 7:00 pm ET, CountryBox: Where Music Meets Boxing. From the Texas Troubadour Theatre in Nashville, Tennessee, not that any regular Bad Left Hook reader needs to be reminded. Main event is Maidel Sando vs Zachary Randolph, with Evan Holyfield on the undercard. The music is Presley Aaron.

Thursday, December 4th

DAZN, 7:00 am ET, Knockout CP Freshmart vs Junior Zarate. From Bangkok, Thailand. This is for the now vacant WBC light flyweight belt. Why vacant? Because Carlos Canizales, originally booked to defend it against Freshmart here, had to bail a week from fight night due to travel problems/geopolitics. The whole situation is dumb and frustrating at every level, from every angle. Four support fights listed for lesser WBC belts, if that excites you.

Friday, December 5th

DAZN(?), 1:00 pm ET, Akrem Aouina vs Tom Hill. From Milan, Italy. This isn’t currently showing on DAZN’s schedule, but that’ll be a repeated theme this week and doesn’t mean it won’t show up later. BoxRec still shows it happening and streaming there, but the last social media bump I can find from the promoters was two weeks ago. And, this doesn’t currently list on the upcoming schedule for the venue, which does show a different event called “The Night of Kick and Punch – 19th Edition” coming up on February 7th. Paris Olympian Diego Lenzi is on the undercard, per BoxRec and all the fight posters.

Saturday, December 6th

DAZN, 3:00 am ET, Dream Boxing. From Phuket, Thailand. Main event is Vladislav Khotenov vs Khashaiar Ghassemi.

DAZN(?), 5:00 am ET, Jai Opetaia vs Huseyin Cinkara. For Opetaia’s IBF cruiserweight belt, from Gold Coast, Australia. Opetaia defends against Cinkara, summarized aptly and succinctly by Stumberg as: “a 40-year-old for whom the descriptor “IBF mandatory” is as derogatory as it’s ever been.” A knockout win in early 2024 against Armend Xhoxhaj is the closest thing to a name victory on Cinkara’s resume. This is a streaming or PPV option in multiple other territories, but currently not listed on DAZN’s US schedule. Troubling! But, for those who can access it, you’ll also see Justis Huni, Jason Moloney, and Teremoana Teremoana in support. BLH will have live updates (if America has a live stream)

DAZN, 12:00 pm ET, Primetime Boxing. From Varde, Denmark. Main event is Melissa Mortensen vs Dorota Norek. Undercard includes Thorbjorn Boudigaard, a Danish heavyweight, not a 4th tier Asterix and Obelix side character.

DAZN, 1:00 pm ET, Dream Boxing. Two Dream Boxing events in one day?!? It’s like some sort of unconscious wish fulfillment come true! This one is in Göppingen, Germany, and features Temur Mamoyan vs Djuar El Scheich at the top of the fight card. Diego Marocchi appears in support, and I mention him only so I can point out his nickname is “The Horseshoe.”

DAZN, 2:00 pm ET, Shabaz Masoud vs Peter McGrail. Matchroom’s annual show in Monaco, with a European super bantamweight title on the line. Masoud is undefeated, a year removed from his last action, a split decision win over Liam Davies that earned him the IBO world title. Seems to have misplaced it somewhere along the way, or maybe just forgot to pack it in his duffel after that fight. Things happen! Beatriz Ferreira defends her IBF lightweight belt against Elif Nur Turhan in the chief support, with Sean “The Public Nuisance” McComb defending his European IBF super lightweight title against Hugo “The Fresh Prince of Monaco” Micallef further down the lineup. BLH will have live updates

Amazon Prime (and YouTube), 5:30 pm ET, Cruz vs Roach Prelims. Three fights listed on Prime’s capsule: Frank Martin vs Rances Barthelemy, Isaac Lucero vs Roberto Valenzuela Jr, and Luis Nunez vs Hector Sosa. Elijah Garcia is also booked for a 10 rounder, but that may not be televised. This one also streams free on YouTube, if you don’t have Prime.

Amazon Prime PPV, 8:00 pm ET, Isaac Cruz vs Lamont Roach. From San Antonio, Texas. $79.95 American gets you this WBC interim super lightweight title fight. Cruz holds the not-Subriel Matias belt, thanks to his win over late sub Omar Salcido back in July on the Pacquiao-Barrios show. WBO and IBF middleweight champ Janibek Alimkhanuly unifies with WBA champ Erislandy Lara. Stephen “Cool Boy” Fulton, former unified super bantamweight champ and current WBC featherweight champ, goes for a third division against reigning WBC super featherweight champion O’Shaquie Foster. And, Jesus Ramos vs Shane Mosley Jr opens the main card. BLH will have live updates
