There were only 14 fines levied against NFL players in Week 12, the third-fewest this season, but three came in the Arizona Cardinals game against the Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday.
Two were on the opening kickoff of the game when Cardinals wide receiver Andre Baccellia was fined $5,722 for unnecessary roughness (away from the play), and Jaguars linebacker Dennis Gardceck was tagged $11,275 for taunting. Gardeck played the first seven seasons of his career for the Cardinals before signing with the Jaguars in the offseason.

Jaguars center Robert Hainsey was fined $12,172 for a low block on safety Budda Baker in the third quarter for which he was penalized. On second-and-10 from the Cardinals' 14-yard line, running Travis Etienne Jr. ran to the two-yard line, but Hainsey cut Baker at the 7-yard line. The penalty moved the ball to the 22 for second-and-18.
However, quarterback Trevor Lawrence hit wide receiver Jakobi Meyers on two plays for 12 yards and a 10-yard touchdown to give Jacksonville a 17-14 lead.
The Gardeck penalty was one of four taunting fines in Week 12, with two penalized. For the season, 27 taunting fines have been assessed, although 14 were not penalized in-game.

The other penalties in Week 12 were two for striking/kickiong/tripping/kneeing and one for a violent gesture, hit on a defenseless player, low block, facemask and blindside block.
The hit on a defenseless less player fine was by Detroit Lions safety Brian Branchi, his fourth fine of the season for a total of $57,976. Adding a game check of $76,625 he lost after being suspended one game for punching Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Schuster following a Week 6, game, Branch has been docked $134,601 this season.
The fines on three Lions players brings their season total to 14, second-most in the NFL behind the 17 by the Dallas Cowboys. In Week 5, there were 13 fines with the season low in Week 8 with 10.
