According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Indianapolis Colts rookie tight end Tyler Warren is expected to play on Sunday at home against the Houston Texans—and is reportedly “good to go”:

The Colts rookie tight end received a new ‘questionable’ injury designation on Saturday with a freshly listed illness, but all indications are currently that’ll be able to lace them up in a critical divisional game.

Indianapolis currently sits atop the AFC South at 8-3, but still has the entire season series against the Houston Texans (6-5) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (7-4) down the season’s final stretch run respectively.

As this year’s first round pick, Warren has been able to make an immediate impact at starting tight end, catching 55 receptions for 662 receiving yards (12.0 ypr. avg.) and 3 touchdown receptions, as well as had a rushing touchdown on the ground during his first 8 pro starts.

Warren has already broken the Colts franchise rookie tight end record for receptions and is well on his way down this season’s final stretch of games to break John Mackey’s rookie record of 726 total receiving yards set in 1963.

If Warren surpasses 1,000 receiving yards, he will be the 2nd Colts rookie to do so, joining wideout Bill Brooks, who accomplished the first-year pro feat back in 1986.

Having Warren ready to go should be a big boost to a Colts offense that has stalled in recent games and is looking to get back on track against a stingy Texans defense that allows the NFL’s 2nd fewest points (16.5 avg. ppg.).
