Here are your player ratings from Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace:

Starters

Senne Lammens – 6

He was solid for the most part. Has a good penalty record, but didn’t go the right way with either attempt.

Diogo Dalot – 5

Mostly in the XI for his throw-ins by the looks of things. Has to offer more in the forward areas.

Leny Yoro – 4

Could use some time off. He was brought for big money, but he’s far from ready. Good defenders can be classed into two types: dependable or assertive. He could be the former in due time, but it’ll take some time. He’s often targeted by the strongest forwards in the league.

Matthijs De Ligt – 5

Lucky that he wasn’t punished for the slip. Struggled against Mateta initially, but managed him better by the end of the game.

Luke Shaw – 6

Had a few careless moments at the start, but looked more comfortable as the game went on. Made one great block.

Amad Diallo – 5

Didn’t show a lot of quality today.

Casemiro – 6

Was a goal threat once again and did a job on the defensive end.

Bruno Fernandes – 8

Set up the two goals. Still delivering.

Mason Mount – 7

Great goal and ran his socks off as usual.

Bryan Mbeumo – 5

Another tame display, but that’s fine when his teammates deliver.

Joshua Zirkzee – 7

Still hasn’t built much chemistry with his teammates, but that was a fantastic and important goal. Needs to build on it.

Subs

Noussair Mazraoui. – 6

Looked more like his composed self today.

Diogo Dalot – 4

Didn’t make an impact.

Lisandro Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo, and Patrick Dorgu – N/A

Manager

Ruben Amorim  – 7

Fantastic result. The team started brightly with some set-piece attempts and ultimately scored from two. Not the best performance, but the game management was a big positive.
