The Chicago Bears announced themselves to the NFL world on Black Friday, taking down the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, 24-15.

Beating the Eagles on the road, on a worldwide stage, head coach Ben Johnson stuck to his plans and ran the ball with great success, totaling 281 yards, nearly doubling the time of possession as well. The Bears made a statement that not only are they a real team this season but they should be considered in the upper echelon of the NFL.

Prime Video analyst Richard Sherman, a Super Bowl champion and five-time All-Pro, was blown away with the Bears' performance on Friday. Taking to social media during the game, Sherman said he couldn't recall a team manhandling the Eagles like Chicago did.

"I don't think I have seen any team manhandle the Eagles like the Bears are tonight," he wrote.

With many critics not buying into the hype of the Bears' early success this season, they certainly made a statement in Friday's win over the Eagles. Not only did they go on the road and defeat Philadelphia in enemy territory, but they did so by dominating the line of scrimmage, running the ball, controlling the clock, and getting turnovers on defense.

Currently, the Bears sit with the No. 2 seed in the NFC, but they will also face the Green Bay Packers in two of their next three games. Green Bay currently sits second in the division, adding much more fuel to one of the NFL's most fierce rivalry.
