The Cleveland Browns will be taking on the San Francisco 49ers today, the first home start for rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders. After leading the Browns to a win over the Las Vegas Raiders a week ago, head coach Kevin Stefanski named Sanders the starter this week as well.

But just how many opportunities will Sanders get the rest of the way out in 2025? According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, there is no number on how many starts the fifth round pick could see this year. In fact, the Browns could give him the runway of the rest of the season. This echoes what ESPN's Adam Schefter said yesterday as well.

Here is what Rapoport had to say on Sanders' week-to-week outlook in Cleveland:

"My understanding is the Browns, with a good performance and a performance they can be proud of, that he could start the rest of the way. Yes, Shedeur would have earned it if that were the case, but they also want to evaluate him. The Browns want to get out of this season knowing whether or not they have a franchise quarterback with two first round picks coming up in this draft. They have to know."

The weather isn't kind in Cleveland today. Can Sanders and the Browns take advantage of this opportunity against a West Coast team? The Browns beat the 49ers in cold weather the last time they met in 2023, so we will see if they can repeat history.

And if Sanders stacks games today, then we may just see him the rest of the way out.
