The Arizona Cardinals will once again be without starting running back Trey Benson in Week 13.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementBenson is still working his way back from arthroscopic knee surgery that landed him on injured reserve. The second-year rusher hasn't appeared in a game since Week 4.
Benson was designated to return from injured reserve on Nov. 19, but the Cardinals have yet to activate him from the list and he was ruled out again for Week 13.
Here's what we know about his return timeline.
When is Trey Benson coming back?
We still don't have an exact answer to this question yet, but it doesn't look like the Cardinals rusher will make it back for Week 14, either.
Benson logged a fourth-straight limited practice on Wednesday, but he did not take part in practice over the final two days of the week, which led many to wonder if Benson had suffered a setback.

"Gannon won’t use that term. Continues to say Benson is evaluated day by day. Since he’s already on IR, next big step is next week. Deadline to put him on roster approaches," Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com wrote.
Given the 21-day timeline to activate him, the Cardinals have until Dec. 10 to make that decision, so we could see him play in either of the next two games.
But seeing as how Benson finished off the week as a non-participant in practice, we wouldn't expect him back in Week 14 and instead Week 15 is more likely.
