Batman is one of the most popular comic book characters to ever be adapted into TV and film, with a handful of great adaptations going under the radar. While everyone knows about the Tim Burton Batman movies, the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy, and shows like Batman: The Animated Series, there are a lot of other underrarted adaptations of the Gotham Guardian out there.
From the radio podcast Batman Unburied, to modern animated shows that focus on comedy like Bat-Fam, and onto the live-action prequel series, Gotham, that takes a closer look at a young Bruce Wayne, there are an incredible variety of Batman stories. But one in particular may deserve some attention from Batman fans.
Beware The Batman Is A Criminally Underrated Batman Show

Beware the Batman came out in 2013 on Cartoon Network, which meant it came much later than the 1990s Batman: TAS, and the reimagined early 2000s Batman Beyond. But while both of those shows have gotten a fair amount of attention, Beware the Batman has slipped under the radar.
It focused on a younger version of Bruce Wayne, one who was still early in his career as a vigilante, and who found himself dealing with incredible new threats to Gotham. Which makes this one of the more unique animated Batman shows ever made.

As much as I would like to say I don't understand why this show ended up being forgotten and discarded, I do have to concede that there was one fatal flaw. The show was an animated Batman story in 3D.
Now, 3D is not inherently offensive, and there have been superhero shows that kind of pull it off, but animated 3D adds a layer that feels completely separate from a character like Batman. Batman is dark, broody, and intense, and 3D animation kind of skews in the opposite direction.

However, while it was a 3D-animated series, and that made it feel somewhat separate from the comic book source material and the intensity of Gotham as a whole, Beware the Batman did manage to do things that no other Batman movie has done before or since.
Beware the Batman used lesser villains to help shape Batman's story. As a fledgling vigilante, it doesn't make sense to put Batman up against spectacular rivals like the Joker, the Riddler, and Two-Face; all of those supervillains are incredibly refined and effective.
A naive Batman should face equally opportunistic villains, in order to build up his confidence, his skills, and become the man who is one day viewed as the Dark Protector of Gotham.
By using C-tier villains, like Professor Pyg, Anarchy, and others, Beware the Batman gives the character room to grow, while also showcasing some underrated villains from the Rogues Gallery, and that alone makes it worth watching.
