INDIANAPOLIS — Colts quarterback Daniel Jones is expected to play against the Chiefs on Sunday despite dealing with a calf injury this week, according to Indianapolis head coach Shane Steichen.
Jones popped up on the injury report Thursday, the first time this season that the veteran quarterback has been listed on the report.

“You guys saw Daniel was on the injury report,” Steichen said. “He had some discomfort yesterday. We initially thought it was a calf, but when we looked at it more, it was a fibula.”
The fibula did not keep Jones from practicing.
The quarterback missed a handful of snaps in Thursday’s practice, according to Steichen, and then returned to practice.
Jones practiced again on Friday, and the Colts saw no issues with the leg.
“He was rolling, he was good today,” Steichen said.
The Colts do not plan to call up veteran Brett Rypien, the team’s No. 3 quarterback, from the practice squad, an indicator of how confident Indianapolis is in Jones’ health.
