Atlanta Hawks rookie Asa Newell registered another double-digit scoring effort on assignment in the G League, helping the College Park Skyhawks to a road win on Saturday.

Newell produced 14 points, five rebounds, one assist and one blocked shot in a 113-108 victory over the Delaware Blue Coats at the Chase Fieldhouse. He went 7-of-11 from the field in 26 minutes as the Skyhawks improved to 2-5 to begin the season.

The 23rd pick in the 2025 NBA draft worked primarily in the paint from the dunker spot and in pick-and-roll situations. He threw down several emphatic dunks throughout his time on the court before fouling out in the fourth quarter.

Newell has played sporadically with the Hawks, averaging 3.9 points and 1.6 rebounds in 12 appearances for coach Quin Snyder. He is one of seven rookies to register a double-double this season after recording 12 points and 10 rebounds on Oct. 25.

The 20-year-old debuted with the Skyhawks on Wednesday, tallying 19 points, four assists and two rebounds in a loss to the Long Island Nets. He shot 7-of-10 from the field, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range, in 27 minutes of action.

Newell has impressed in the early going and earned the trust of his teammates, like Trae Young. The team will continue to explore opportunities for him in the G League as it looks to maximize his development throughout the season.
