Florida A&M football couldn't capitalize on its opportunity to finish the 2025 season at .500, losing at Mississippi Valley State 35-31 Saturday, Nov. 29, in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game.
The win was the Delta Devils' second of the season, while the Rattlers (5-7, 4-4 SWAC) closed with consecutive defeats to rival Bethune-Cookman and MSVU (2-10, 1-7).

It also marked the Delta Devils' second consecutive win over the Rattlers.
FAMU led 24-14 early in the third quarter but was unable to protect its advantage.
Quarterback RJ Johnson threw for 283 yard and two touchdowns, but was also intercepted three times. His last pick came with 1:23 remaining in the game.
Running back Thad Franklin paced the Rattlers with 101 yards and one touchdown. He also had 41 receiving yards.
FAM outgained MSVU 455-425, but did not have an answer for the Delta Devils' passing game.

FAMU limited MSVU to only 67 yards on the ground.
Both teams struggled on third down. FAMU was 3 of 13; MSVU 3 of 11.
