Department store chain Kohl’s has named Michael Bender as chief executive officer, following his tenure as interim CEO since May.

Earlier in his career, Bender served as president and CEO of optical retailer Eyemart Express, from January 2018 to April 2022, previously as president from September 2017 to January. 2018. Before joining Eyemart Express, Bender held various executive management positions at Walmart, including chief operating officer of global e-commerce and executive vice president and president of the Walmart West business unit. He currently serves as a director of Acuity Brands and previously as a director of Ryman Hospitality Properties.

Bender will remain on the Kohl’s Board, where he has been a director since 2019—including as board chair from May 2024 until he was appointed interim CEO the following May.

Global luxury fashion house Lanvin Group announced that David Chan, executive president and chief financial officer, is stepping down to pursue new professional opportunities. While Chan steps down from his executive role, he may continue to support the company in an advisory capacity, the group said, noting plans to share further updates regarding the appointment of a successor in “due course.”

Plant-based fur alternative company BioFluff announced the appointment of Luke Henning as interim chief executive officer. Henning, who has served as chairman of BioFluff’s board for the past two years, will lead the company as it scales its commercial operations and accelerates its fur alternatives market entry. He brings extensive experience in the sustainable materials sector, having previously served as co-founder and chief business officer at textile-to-textile recycler Circ. BioFluff also welcomed three new strategic advisors: Matt Scullin, CEO of MycoWorks; Chloe Reuter, co-founder of Reuter Communications; and Shashin Surti, co-founder of The Merido.

Houston-based commerce solutions provider Cart.com has named Arjun Sainath as chief technology officer. In this role, Sainath will lead product and engineering strategy, advancing Cart.com’s use of AI and machine learning to build data-driven technology for the next generation of commerce and fulfillment. Sainath brings more than two decades of experience leading product, platform and digital initiatives across the supply chain and CRM industries. He most recently served as corporate vice president of platform engineering at Blue Yonder.

Nonprofit organization Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana has named Kulsum Shadab Wahab as women’s empowerment ambassador. An Indian philanthropist and founder of the “anti fit fashion” brand Ara Lumiere, Wahab serves as the executive director of the nonprofit Hothur Foundation, which addresses crimes against women and works to “ensure freedom, dignity and equal rights” of and for female victims of acid attacks.
