Harry Mitchell’s (Elijah Holloway) life has been utterly hellish in EastEnders since he tried to save his best friend, Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) from the terrifying wrath of Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), when he flushed the latter’s drug stash down the toilet.
Harry was trapped within Ravi’s fledgling drug enterprise, forced to watch in abject horror as Ravi and his chief lieutenant Tobias ‘Okie’ Okyere (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu) cuckoo’d Kojo and firmly established his flat as the base of their shady operation.
While Harry managed to escape when his fearsome mum, Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) bartered for his freedom with Ravi, he was immediately sucked back in, enlisting his dad, Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian), to help him free Kojo, too, with the aid of a secret camera.
Ravi and Okie quickly discovered the hairbrained scheme, though, and held Harry hostage. Though Harry crumbled and told them everything they needed to shut the secret camera down, Ravi had to engineer a quick escape after learning that rival drug bosses were hunting him.

With Okie now in complete control of the entire operation, he ignored Ravi’s directive to free Harry and instead, chained him up in Kojo’s spare bedroom, starving him while enticing him to take drugs to make the alleviate his suffering.
Harry quickly succumbed to addiction. When he and Kojo finally escaped, Okie used Kojo once again to lure Harry to the flat. As the two went head to head, it was Okie who ended up on the receiving end of his own knife, dying in Harry’s arms.
Though Harry determined to admit his guilt to the police, Teddy refused, admitting to Okie’s murder, intending to take the full rap for his son, later deciding to plead guilty, unbeknownst to Harry.
In the aftermath of the brutal death, Harry has struggled to stay away from drugs, with one relapse landing him in hospital, while his brother Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman) despairs equally over his brothers actions and the loss of his father and Nicola tries her best to hold the family together, while managing her own situation.

Next week sees Harry slip again, heading out to buy drugs, but bumping into Okie’s sister, Deija, who invites him to Okie’s funeral. George Knight (Colin Salmon) later endeavours to reunite Kojo, Harry and Gina Knight (Francesca Henry), with Kojo suggesting that they go to Okie’s memorial.
Harry later falls off the wagon again, pleading with Nicola for money to buy drugs, further reinforcing her dedication to keeping her son in the dark over Teddy’s intention to plead guilty. When George slips and reveals the truth, Harry explodes, revealing that it was he, not his dad, who killed Okie.
