The Pittsburgh Steelers made an important decision ahead of their Week 13 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, adding a former 2023 first-round draft pick to injured reserve.
On Saturday, the Steelers placed Jones on the IR list and elevated cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. to their 53-man roster.Jones suffered his injury in the Week 12 loss to the Chicago Bears, where he was ruled out with a stinger.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIt appears his setback was more serious than originally believed, as Jones will now miss the next four contests, including Week 13, on injured reserve. At the earliest, he'll be eligible to return in Week 17 against the Cleveland Browns.
In Jones' place, the Steelers named OL Andrus Peat as the starting left tackle, with his first challenge coming against the fearsome Bills' edge rusher duo of Joey Bosa and Gregory Rousseau.
