What a throw and what a play call for the Buckeyes on fourth and five. Julian Sayin delivered a gorgeous 35-yard touchdown pass to Jeremiah Smith, giving Ohio State a 10–6 lead and providing exactly the spark fans were hoping for after a sluggish offensive start. On his 20th birthday, Smith beat a Michigan defender, secured the deep ball, and took it in for a huge score. The play went under review for several minutes as officials examined whether he bobbled the ball after crossing into the end zone and stepping out of bounds, a ruling that could have turned it into a Michigan touchback. Thankfully, the call stood, and the Buckeyes kept the touchdown on the board as they moved in front. Here is the catch and birthday touchdown from Smith, courtesy of FOX College Football.
