It's not been uncommon in the Sean McDermott era for the Bills to find themselves with a sense of "urgency".
The coach, Josh Allen, and his teammates have spoken to it in years past around this point in the season.

"Urgency is up," coach Sean McDermott said ahead of NFL Week 13. "That's important any time of year, but to your point, it's mid- to late November and heading into December. ... It's a fun time of year when you're in the hunt."
Buffalo still sits at 7-4 with an 80.6% chance to make the playoffs, but has matched what is typically around their seasonal loss total with six games left to play.
"'Extremely high sense of urgency," Allen echoed about where the team is at.

A favorable seed and the playoffs are within reach if they win out, but it starts with finding that competitive spark and sense of championship-caliber drive that has eluded them much of this season.
After their third road loss last Thursday, falling to the Houston Texans, Buffalo will look to begin a win streak, starting with Sunday's meeting with the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
"'We've had some good, had some bad, throughout the year,' Allen added. 'I think there'd be a lot of teams that are wishing that they were 7-4 in a spot that we are. So it's also about that opportunity in front of us, of 'hey, let's go out, let's play as hard as we can, let's put our best foot forward, and try to get a victory on Sunday. ' That's ultimately what it comes down to."

Division rival, the New England Patriots, have a two-and-a-half-game lead at first in the AFC East. With the division and the AFC playoff races picking up speed with seeding in the balance, every game and win matter more.
