17’ – Grealish finds Dewsbury-Hall in the inside left channel, shot blocked for a corner. Corner is cleared but Everton continue to press, and the crowd is getting louder. Play is stopped as Joelinton is receiving medical attention.

15’ – Good spell of possession with a shot blocked in the box.

13’ – Garner finds Grealish in the channel, his cutback is cleared, falls to Garner in the box, shot is poor. Everton are alive at least.

10’ – Everton go down the other side and Ndiaye’s cross is put out for a corner, which then becomes a throw-in. Myko long ball into the box, Tarky chests it down for Keane to fire.. off Burn and another corner. Looping inswinger from Dewsbury-Hall, Keane shirt-pull from Joelinton ignored and Barry header goes over the bar.

8’ – Livramento wins a corner on the Everton left now. Hall puts it low into the box, cleared by Ndiaye, but given right back to the Magpies. Now Barnes gets between Tarkowski and Keane, his shot is blocked by Keane and bounces over the goal for another corner. Hall inswinger and Pickford puts it over the bar from his goalline, but the ref blows for a foul on the keeper.

5’ – Newcastle certainly have their tails up early after that goal with the bulk of the possession early as Everton are struggling to string together passes.

3’ – This was exactly what Tottenham did to Everton in the Blues first ever home defeat at Hill Dickinson, with a corner into the congested six-yard box.

1’ – Everton kick off. Woltemade immediately turns Keane in the middle, and plays Elanga through. The winger is faster than Mykolenko and gets off a shot at the far post, Pickford plays it safe and parries it wide for a corner. Corner into the six-yard box, Pickford stays on his line and an unchallenged Thiaw rises highest and heads into the goal from point-blank range. 55 seconds in, and Everton are behind 1-0.
