Moises Caicedo is our best player so far this season, and the Daily Mail managed to snag a chat with him ahead of the game.

As well as talk of him competing with Declan Rice for the position of the Premier League’s best midfielder, there’s been talk of him being the best midfielder in the world. As you’d expect from the humble superstar, he played that comparison down:

“There are so many good players in my position. I’m doing my best. But I need to show more because I feel like I can do more. With goals, with assists, I can feel it.”

He already has improved his scoring and assisting this season. As for those Rice comparisons…

“Declan, everybody knows how good he is. It will be a great battle, me and him. It’s very nice, very special and like he said, we play in different positions.

“People compare him and myself but I’m so happy he’s doing really well. I enjoy watching him play because he’s so good. I want to play against the best defensive and attacking midfielders in the world and he’s one of them. I’m waiting. It’s nice that people compare us, but we are not fighting. He wants to do well. I’m going to fight. I’m ready. Everybody is ready. I’m looking forward to it.”

So we are, Moises.

In other news…

A potentially massive factor in the game tomorrow will be whether Wesley Fofana is risked. He’s a top player, but already played 90 minutes against Barcelona in midweek, and now Enzo Maresca has to decide whether to risk him again.

Fofana’s form for the Blues is made clear by the stats – they’re on a great winning run with him in the team, and it’s going to be an incredibly tough call for Enzo Maresca over whether to leave him out for the sake of caution over his fitness.
