We're just a few short hours away from The Game. After an Indiana win last night over Purdue, Ohio State has just one path to make it to the Big Ten Championship game. To do so, Ryan Day will need to get a four-year monkey off his back by slaying the hated rival, the Michigan Wolverines.

We know the game will be played at noon and have a good idea of who's going to play for the most part on each side. But what about the "great equalizer," as Jim Tressel called it? A factor that is beyond either team's control... The weather.

We've been hearing all week about possible weather conditions in Ann Arbor, but let's take a look at the latest forecast. For those heading to the game, make sure you bundle up. Temperatures are predicted to be in the low to mid-30s for the game, with a wind chill in the high 20s. Wind gusts are not expected to be more than 10 mph. Those low numbers get a little uncomfortable for fans, but shouldn't affect players too much. Anyone remember the Bucks dominating Tennessee in negative temps not too long ago?

But what about the possibility of snow? Buckeye fans may not like to hear this, but forecasters are predicting five to eight inches of the white stuff in the Detroit area. However, there is good news. The heaviest of snow isn't expected to hit until after the game. At this point, only flurries and light snow are expected during actual play. Of course, any precipitation could make it more difficult for Ohio State to move the ball through the air, but a light snow shouldn't prevent Julian Sayin from airing it out when needed.

Ultimately, the weather does have a chance to impact the game and probably favors Michigan to an extent. The Wolverines don't want to get into a track meet with the Buckeyes, and the impending snow may lend itself to allowing Michigan to slow the game down. It will be imperative that the OSU defense continue its dominant ways of shutting down the opposition's running attack as it has done all season. If it can't, it will be another long 365 days in Columbus.
