Iowa State comes off a 38-14 blowout over visiting Kansas last week. The Cyclones led 17-0 at the half and were never seriously threatened. Rocco Becht finished 18-of-23 for 241 yards and three touchdowns while Carson Hansen racked up 120 yards and a score on 22 carries. Brett Eskildsen caught six passes for 73 yards and two TDs, and Benjamin Brahmer also grabbed a touchdown pass. Marcus Neal Jr. produced the game’s only turnover with an interception.
Oklahoma State couldn’t hold a 14-0 halftime lead, dropping a 17-14 decision at UCF last week when the Knights kicked a field goal to win it with 57 seconds remaining. Zane Flores threw for 124 yards and a touchdown, throwing an interception as well and scoring on the ground. Rodney Fields Jr. finished with 87 yards on 19 attempts, and Gavin Freeman snared a TD pass. Cam Smith and Ladainian Fields posted interceptions for the defense.
The Cowboys have lost 19 straight games against FBS competition dating back to a 45-10 win over Tulsa on Sept. 14, 2024, and announced the hiring of North Texas coach Eric Morris earlier this week. While Oklahoma State leads the all-time series 34-21-3, Iowa State won the last time they played, taking a 34-27 win at home on Sept. 23, 2023.
