No one wanted to go home.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIt was the Texas high school football playoffs, and there were Southlake Carroll and Prosper, still on the field well past 1 a.m.
The game didn't go to overtime. It just didn't start on time.
In the end, it ended at 1:43 a.m. locally in the Central Standard Time zone.
The final: Southlake Carroll 49, Prosper 31.
It was a win for The Sporting News' No. 6 ranked team over the No. 45 ranked team.
The game was delayed more than four hours due to inclement weather in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Southlake Carroll handled the delay and advances in the Texas UIL Class 6A Division II bracket to the state quarterfinals.
