The Marvel Cinematic Universe is closer than ever to finally dealing with Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, but with the major twist of Robert Downey Jr. playing Victor von Doom. The Multiverse Saga is only a couple of projects away from being over, as Phase 6 is scheduled to conclude in 2027, with Downey Jr. coming back to the franchise as the big bad of this story.

KH Studio recently debuted an Avengers: Doomsday concept trailer, pitching what the upcoming war with Doctor Doom may look like in the Phase 6 installment. Check it out below:

Various heroes like Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Thor, and Doctor Strange are seen in action, as they come together with fellow Avengers members Sam Wilson, a.k.a. Captain America, Loki, Star-Lord, and many more. The Avengers: Doomsday cast finished principal photography in mid-September 2025, although there are still a lot of characters that haven't been announced yet for the film.

However, additional photography is reportedly set to take place in spring 2026 before the Russo brothers begin filming Avengers: Secret Wars. While the cast list for the Phase 6 finale is limited for the time being, Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom will be back for it.

The highly anticipated 2026 installment will also see Earth's Mightiest Heroes sharing the screen with Fox's X-Men, with several of the original cast members returning to reprise their respective mutant characters. Newer characters like Shang-Chi will also be joining Avengers: Doomsday.

While Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Brand New Day will arrive months before Avengers: Doomsday, it has yet to be confirmed if Peter Parker will be part of the December 2026 project. The MCU timeline will undergo a reset after Avengers: Secret Wars, rather than a reboot.

In terms of the Avengers: Doomsday trailer from Marvel Studios, the audience will not have to wait for much longer. The first look at the ensemble film is confirmed to be debuting in December during the previews of Avatar: Fire & Ash.

Avengers: Doomsday debuts on December 18, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars releases in theaters on December 17, 2027.
