Iowa (8-4, 6-3 Big Ten) ended its 2025 regular season in spectacular fashion, embarrassing Nebraska (7-5, 4-5 Big Ten), 40-16.

Iowa graduate quarterback Mark Gronowski enjoyed a big day, passing for a touchdown and rushing for two more scores as he tallied 230 total yards of offense. Gronowski made some individual Hawkeye history in the process.

Redshirt freshman tight end DJ Vonnahme caught a 35-yard touchdown pass and redshirt sophomore running back Kamari Moulton had two touchdown runs.

After Iowa's 10th win in the past 11 meetings against Nebraska, Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz shared his postgame thoughts on the Hawkeyes' victory.

"Just obviously really pleased with the win. First and foremost, just happy for our players. They've been great. Extremely proud of our whole team just the way they've performed, not only today, but really going back to January. It's been 11 months that we started this thing and they've been great at every turn to work with, so I just really appreciate that.

"It's a long road to get only 12 chances to compete that are guaranteed. It's a lot of work that goes into it. So, really it's been easy to work with these guys. Proud of how they've competed and how they've fought. They've responded no matter what goes on, even during the course of the games, they've done a good job I think responding and certainly, you know, lose a game, they get back up on their feet.

"To me, today's game is really representative of the kind of guys that we have on this football team. They really understand what it means to fight and go out and compete for the full 60 and that's really what the game's all about.

"I think the best part about all this stuff is we've got a long weekend. Everybody can just kind of take some time away and the players certainly need that, all of us do. But, really, the nicest thing is they can enjoy it and feel really good about what they've done not only today but for this entire season long. It's a good feeling when the players go home and can feel good about what they've been doing. These guys have earned that, there's no question about that," Ferentz said.

Iowa now awaits its bowl destination, which will be announced on Dec. 7.
