Quick, somebody check the calendar. Is it March? No?
Well it sure seemed like it was March at the Zoo Friday evening as Pitt pulled off a beautiful November buzzer beater.
Down 66-64 to Ohio State with 3.9 to play, Pitt got the ball in to Damarco Minor.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementA 6-0 guard who spent two years at SIU-Edwardsville before transferring to Oregon State last season, Minor brought the ball up and was met by two Buckeye defenders.
They pressured him but not too closely since he was a good ways out from the basket still.
Minor pulled up about 7-8 feet from the 3-point line with about 1.1 left and let fly.
And you know what the coolest thing was?
He knew it was going in because as soon as he let go, he started to walk away from the shot and went towards the fans. Not running, not excited.
He was just waiting for the shot to fall through the net.
Which it did, giving Jeff Capel and his Panthers a dramatic 67-66 win.
