There are plenty of matchups to focus on in Sunday's battle between the 49ers and Browns, but these are the most important.

4 key matchups to watch in 49ers vs. Browns in Week 13Story byMike Masala, Niners WireSat, November 29, 2025 at 5:15 AM UTC·2 min read

The San Francisco 49ers are traveling in Week 13, as they'll take on the Cleveland Browns on Sunday at Huntington Bank Field for an interconference battle.

San Francisco is the clear favorite in this matchup, but after they looked shaky in their win over the Carolina Panthers last week, not everyone is convinced that they'll make it three wins in a row. That's especially the case with Myles Garrett threatening to break the NFL's single-season sack record in the coming weeks.

While there are plenty of battles to pay attention to during this meeting, these are the four matchups that will be the most important to key in on.

LT Trent Williams vs. DE Myles Garrett

As we mentioned, Garrett is having a phenomenal season. Through 11 games, he's recorded 44 tackles (26 for a loss), 27 quarterback hits, a league-leading 18 sacks and three forced fumbles. He tends to line up against the left tackle more often, so Williams will have his hands full. He must do everything he can to keep Garrett off Purdy.

RB Christian McCaffrey vs. LB Carson Schwesinger

McCaffrey hasn't had his best year running the ball, but the 49ers are using him so much that it really hasn't mattered. Through 12 weeks, he has 1,581 all-purpose yards and has found the end zone 12 times. He's Purdy's security blanket, and the Browns will likely try to take him away.

CB Deommodore Lenoir vs. WR Jerry Jeudy

Cleveland doesn't exactly have the best passing attack, but Jeudy is their top wideout. He was a Pro Bowler last year, his first in Cleveland, but this year he has just 32 receptions for 395 yards and one touchdown. Lenoir and other members of the secondary should be able to limit his impact.

DL Kalia Davis vs. RB Quinshon Judkins

Judkins, Cleveland's second-round pick, has burst onto the scene in his rookie year. He's rushed for 667 yards and seven touchdowns, while catching 14 passes for another 70 yards. With San Francisco's defense missing so many pieces in their front seven, it will be up to Davis and co. to slow down the former Buckeye.
