BYU Clinches Spot in Big 12 Title Game Ahead of UCF Game

BYU and Texas Tech clinched their spots in the Big 12 Championship Game before they stepped foot on the field for their games Saturday. Arizona went on the road and beat Arizona State Friday night, meaning BYU and Texas Tech will meet in the Big 12 title game regardless of their results of their game.

The win for Arizona is also a boon for BYU’s potential CFP at-large resume. The Wildcats came into the game ranked 25 in the CFP rankings, and a road win over 20th-ranked Arizona State moves them to 9-3 and should push them up the rankings. Utah is currently #13 in the CFP rankings, meaning BYU is virtually assured two wins on its resume.

The Big 12 Championship Game is Saturday, December 6 at the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will be at 11am CT on ABC. BYU, of course, lost 29-7 in Lubbock earlier this month and will look to punch their ticket to the College Football Playoff as an underdog to the Red Raiders.
