The winter sports season tipped off across the state on Friday, Nov. 28. The Windber girls basketball team picked up a win over its rival to open the WAABA Tournament.

Windber 52, Conemaugh Township 24: Kaylie Gaye scored a game-high 20 points and added seven assists to guide the Ramblers to a win.

Katrina McCann led Conemaugh Township with 11 points.
