Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate confirmed on travel roster to Michigan

We continue to get positive news when it comes to the prospects of Ohio State star receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate playing against Michigan on Saturday. And now, we know that the dynamic duo made the trip to Ann Arbor as another nod to them being a part of all the action inside the Big House for the 121st edition of The Game between Ohio State and Michigan.

How do we know? We know because OSU head coach Ryan Day talked to the media after his team arrived Friday night and confirmed that both receivers made the trip.

"They are on the trip and looking for a good night of preparation," Day said with a smile. "Just flew in. It was a great flight, and looking forward to having great preparation tonight, and we'll continue to do that all the way to kickoff, but they're here and excited."

By way of background, if a player is too injured to go, typically, they won't be on the 74-man travel roster. Tate has missed three straight games, and Smith left the game against UCLA two weeks ago before being held out of the entire game against Rutgers last week.

Now, being in uniform and on the sideline is one thing; being healthy and effective enough to be a big part of the game plan and to cause those same problems we've seen all year is another. Here's hoping we're talking about the latter. One thing is for certain: you can bet the two will do everything they can to play in this one.

We'll know for sure when the Buckeyes release their player availability report around 10 a.m. ET Saturday. As soon as that is made available, we'll bring it to you.
