Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton passed for just 70 yards, one touchdown and one interception in probably his worst passing performance of the season. However, Stockton contributed as a rusher.

Georgia's defense deserves more of the credit for the victory. The Bulldogs held Georgia Tech without a touchdown and held Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King, a Heisman Trophy contender, in check all day. Georgia cornerback Ellis Robinson had an outstanding interception to stop a Georgia Tech drive.
The Dawgs had a big day from their special teams. Georgia punter Brett Thorson averaged over 50 yards per punt including a long of 61 yards. Kicker Peyton Woodring made all three of his field goal attempts including a 50-yarder.
Georgia held a lead for the entire second half, but Georgia Tech still had a chance to tie the game with a Hail Mary as time expired that tight end Jaden Reddell batted down.
