We're 20 games into the Golden State Warriors' season, and they're still struggling to find their identity, especially on the defensive end. Missed rotations, poor rebounding and a perceived lack of effort have all hurt the team as the losses continue to pile up. The latest defeat came on Wednesday, Nov. 26, as Steve Kerr's team fell to the Houston Rockets.
During his postgame news conference, Brandin Podziemski admitted that everyone on the roster needs to start digging deep. He admitted that in order to get some wins on the board and begin to build momentum, the Warriors may need to accept that there will be some ugly games.
“I mean, I think we all care," Podziemski said. "Obviously, it looks just a little bit worse because we lost and we’ve been losing. Yeah, no one is gonna bail us out of this kind of losing funk that we’re in. We just gotta dig deep. It may not look pretty, but that’s how you win."
Podziemski has played in all of the Warriors' 20 games so far. He's averaging 12.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists, averaging 44% from the field and 39.1% from deep. However, with the team struggling to make a defensive impact, his offensive production isn't having the desired effect.

Without that balance, the Warriors will continue struggling when they're in close games or fighting from behind in the clutch. Now that the team has navigated it's tough start to the season, all eyes will be on how they start rebuilding the foundations of a potentially successful season.
