After weeks of confusion regarding the OnePlus 15's status in the US, the device now finally seems to be out of regulatory limbo.
Although the OnePlus US website still has that dreaded "Notify Me" button next to the latest flagship, the regulatory red tape, according to OnePlus itself, has officially been removed.
OnePlus fans in the US are in for a nasty surprise
Posts 1 By Mark Jansen Nov 13, 2025For reference, OnePlus was unable to launch the OnePlus 15 while the device went on sale globally mainly because of the recent US government shutdown. According to the tech giant, a lack of approval from the FCC was the primary reason for the device's unavailability.
However, roughly two days ago, Reddit user Eectrical-Plum-751 spotted and pointed out that the FCC had granted approval to a OnePlus device with the identifier CPH2749. That is largely believed to be the OnePlus 15's North American identifier.
That was more than enough confirmation that the device had cleared the regulatory hurdle and was ready to go on sale in the country soon, and sure enough, OnePlus confirmed the FCC sign-off.
In a statement given to Android Authority, OnePlus said:
The OnePlus 15 has received FCC certification in the United States. More information about when the device will be available for purchase in the U.S. will be shared very soon.
OnePlus 15R is coming too
The OnePlus 15R gets its announcement date, joined by other surprises
Posts 1 By Andy Boxall 5 days agoWe still don't know when the OnePlus 15 will be available, but just the fact that the launch is now imminent is a major relief for potential US buyers.
OnePlus will fully announce the OnePlus 15R for global markets on December 17th. It's very likely that the phone will be available in the US before then. If not, the OnePlus 15R event should be a good time for the company to share more information.
From what we already know, the OnePlus 15R will be a performance-focused flagship, one that could sport an impressive 8,300mAh battery.
