The shocking fallout of the huge hailstorms witnessed in Arizona this week has been captured on video.

In a clip posted to TikTok under the handle @jjone_98, Juan Ruiz shared footage of an ominous black cloud hanging high above Phoenix, the Arizona capital.

His video then cuts to a brief glimpse of the extreme weather conditions that took hold, with high winds sending hail and rain lashing down across the streets. "The storm was crazy," Ruiz wrote alongside the footage, which has been watched more than 100,000 times on TikTok.

Ruiz was at work when the storm first began. "I noticed a severe thunderstorm warning, which I found unusual since we had experienced a hailstorm the previous day," he told Newsweek. "The storm caught my attention due to the dark skies outside."

After a few minutes of watching, Ruiz decided to go back out and document what they were seeing. "I was excited because I enjoy documenting this type of weather, especially since such storms are rare in Arizona," he said.

Others have been significantly less enthused.

In another video posted to TikTok under the handle @bryce2025a, viewers were given a glimpse of the impact the extreme weather conditions are having on Phoenix. The video, filmed by a motorist, captured the impact of the weather on a large parking lot, which appears to be now at least an inch underwater. You can watch the video here.

The water itself, meanwhile, is barely visible, with sheets of ice covering much of the surface.

A white car can be seen nearby attempting to carefully drive through the water, sending more of it rippling toward the driver filming the clip. "Phoenix weather is crazy," a caption accompanying the footage reads.

Several fellow Arizona residents appear to have taken to the comments section accompanying the video to echo the author’s shock at what they are witnessing at the moment.

"They were spraying like crazy in the sky’s the last few days," one user says. "Crazy bro that’s a floating ice sheet in the heart of Phoenix Arizona," another writes.

Hail has hit significant parts of the Valley, with Tempe and Ahwatukee Foothills seeing similar conditions, while storms continue to rage over that state.

National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologists issued a series of warnings earlier this week about the likelihood of extreme weather conditions across the state.

The NWS in Southern Arizona issued a freeze warning for the early morning hours of Friday as temperatures are expected to plunge more than 20 degrees in some areas.

The NWS also issued an emergency warning over the potential for flash flooding as heavy rain continued to hammer desert areas across the state. Usually, these regions of Arizona witness somewhere in the region of 1.5 to 2 inches of rain for the entire month. As of Wednesday, there had been as much as 3 inches already falling over the previous 12- to 24-hour period.

A hailstorm in Phoenix, Arizona....

Previous footage posted to social media has highlighted how quickly the situation can turn when extreme weather takes hold in Arizona. In October, a dramatic video showing a storm in Phoenix rapidly escalating from light rain to nearly zero visibility conditions, appeared on TikTok TikTok.

The clip, shared by user @itsriiriii on October 14, has amassed more than 2.7 million views, drawing widespread attention for its startling display of how quickly Arizona’s monsoon storms can intensify.

Text overlaid on the video reads: "Just watch how the storm goes crazy in like 10 seconds…0 to 100 real quick."

With the NWS forecasting a 20 to 40 percent chance of further rain in Phoenix and the surrounding area up until Sunday, residents are advised to stay indoors as much as possible.
