Luka Doncic's complaints lead Lakers to make major change for game vs. Mavericks originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Los Angeles Lakers have back-to-back home games in the NBA Cup.

But there'll be a big change between the two games. The floor isn't its usual, colorful NBA Cup self for Friday.
That's because Luka Doncic led a group of players who were unhappy with the court earlier in the week.

First, beat reporter Dan Woike reported this: "Lakers will not be playing on their NBA Cup court tonight - it will undergo repairs and should be ready for quarterfinals if needed."
Then, NBA insider Marc Stein added this: "After complaints from Luka Dončić and other Lakers about the slippery surface Tuesday, tonight’s Mavericks-at-Lakers game will not be played on the team’s NBA Cup floor."

They're all a different color and appearance to signify for fans that the game being played is more than just a regular season game.

There have already been plenty of complaints about visual appearances, which is fair. Some of the courts are quite obnoxious in their bright color schemes.
But a slippery court is dangerous. The league wouldn't want to put its players at risk just to play on a different color of floor.
