As Longhorns football continues to add for the future, they got encouraging news from one of their recruiting targets on Thursday. Four-star recruit Jailen Hill narrowed his list down to 12 teams, including the Longhorns. The talented cornerback is one of the best players in the 2027 class and is drawing interest from schools nationwide.
While the Longhorns would get a boost with Hill in the mix, they are not the only program that has caught his eye. The other programs on his list are Nebraska, Michigan, USC, Florida State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Washington, and Texas A&M. Given how Hill has performed in high school, it is no surprise that some of the top programs in the country are in the running.
Currently, the Longhorns' recruiting target is ranked as the 16th-best cornerback in his class by 247Sports. They also rank the St. John Bosco High star as the 119th best player in his class and the 14th best player from California. The high praise comes following a 2023 campaign in which Hill was a human highlight reel.

He also added 18 pass breakups and one interception to his resume. While Hill still has room to grow, he has already shown that he has the potential to be a star.
At the moment, Texas does not have a commitment from a player in the 2027 class. However, that could change quickly as they have made offers to some of the best players still on the board. Their focus of late has been on making the 2026 group as strong as it can be.
Over the next few months, Hill will be a player to watch as he continues to weigh his options before deciding where to start his college career.
