Happy Friday. This is TheStreet’s Stock Market Today for Nov. 28, 2025. You can follow the latest updates on the market here in our daily live blog.

Update: 11:57 a.m. ET

Midday Movers

Ordinarily, noon would be midday for a market day -- hence, "Midday Movers." Alas, although this is still midday, the market will close in about an hour's time. For that reason, time is of the essence for our quaint little market digest.

That said, the Dow (+0.66%) is now leading among the large cap indexes, trailed by the S&P 500(+0.44%) and Nasdaq (+0.42%). The Russell 2000 (+0.42%) is now in lockstep with those big indexes.

Zooming out, about 60% of U.S. issues are on the rise today. We'll zoom in on the 20 best and worst-performing equities with at least a $2 billion market cap:

Winners

Heading towards the back half of the day, Falcon's Beyond Global (+15.3%) is in close competition with Endeavour Silver Corp (+15.2%) for the market's top spot. Falcon's was on our most recent moving stock list after its earnings and talks of a new partnership with game studio CD PROJEKT RED, the creators of Cyberpunk 2077. Meanwhile, Endeavour is rising in sympathy with silver, which was up 3% at last glance.

Losers

At the bottom of the market, two familiar biotech names are leading swings lower: Jyong Biotech (-9.3%) and Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals (-8.4%), both of which are repeat members of our midday movers section. There isn't any specific reason that appears to be promoting today's move lower, just recent news -- which we've covered in our most recent Stock Market Today columns.

Update: 9:30 a.m. ET

Opening Bell

Our abbreviated market day has finally begun. The small cap-focused Russell 2000 (+0.82%) is taking point this morning, trailed by the large cap indexes. The Nasdaq (+0.38%), S&P 500 (+0.23%), and Dow (+0.20%) are up for the moment.

The 10Y Treasury is up 1.3 basis points to 4.011%. And in commodities, continuous futures for Silver (+3.69% to $55.59) and Gold (+0.75% to $4,233) are up, while Brent Crude Oil (-0.25% to $62.71) is in decline.

Hassett Takes Lead In Fed Chair Race

Director of the National Economic Council of the United States Kevin Hassett is now seen as the frontrunner to be the next Fed Chair. Hassett has advocated for faster rate cuts, centering economic growth. An ally of President Donald Trump, some of his views on Fed independence might be tested.

How About That CME Failure?

This morning, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange reported that it had an outage because of the failure of a cooling system at a key data center in Illinois, leading to disruptions in certain futures and options trading activity. The problem was later resolved, while the issue has remained a point of speculation this morning; in a sophisticated data center where there are fail safes, what went wrong? We might -- or might not -- be hearing more about this event in the coming days.

A.M. Update

Good morning. With the Thanksgiving holiday in the rear view, Wall Street will be open for a half-day of trading today -- closing at 1:00 p.m. ET. There won't be many notable earnings or economic reports.

Despite that, traders have found reasons to be thankful for something this morning. Markets are pointing to a green morning, even after an outage in futures and options trading which was caused by data center issues at CME.

We'll be back shortly to see the opening trade.
