Rangers' Derek Cornelius, Mikey Moore and John Souttar face spells out with muscle injuries, while striker Youssef Chermiti is struggling to make Saturday's visit of Livingston.

Head coach Danny Rohl also revealed back-up goalkeeper Liam Kelly has an issue and young midfielder Bailey Rice could be out for "a long while".

"Before the international break we had nearly no injuries," Rohl explained.

"John is out with a muscle injury. We have to wait [to see] how long. Mikey's out with a muscle injury. How long, it's difficult to say at the moment.

"Derek has to go to a specialist, again with a muscle injury. Could be a serious one, a big one.

"Youssef is a big question mark, he got a kick."

And the German added: "John and Mikey, I hope at the end of December. But it's a muscle injury, it could be 25 days, it could be 40 days. You never know.

"Derek at the moment, I have a little doubt that it's just four weeks, five weeks. It could be longer.

"Liam is a big question mark."

Rohl, who "hopes" Souttar and Moore will feature again before the end of 2025, said he was pleased for Souttar and Connor Barron for helping Scotland reach the World Cup finals, a first since 1998 for the men's team.

And he said of Scotland Under-21 cap Rice, who has undergone surgery: "Bailey got the injury last week in the training, muscle injury, he'll be out for a long while.

Defender Dujon Sterling, midfielder Kieran Dowell and winger Rabbi Matondo are nearing returns from a long period while winger Findlay Curtis is back from injury.

The absence of Cornelius and Souttar leaves Nasser Djiga as Rangers' only other regularly selected central defender for the Scottish Premiership meeting with Livi, though captain and right-back James Tavernier has filled in at centre-back in the past.

Centre-back Emmanuel Fernandez has played three times since his summer arrival, scoring once.

"I had some good conversations the last couple of days with some other players," Rohl said.

"It's now also an opportunity to step up. It's about solutions and hopefully we have more good solutions."
