The Benny Binion Bucking Horse & Bull Sale is one of the most anticipated events of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. The sale is an annual meeting place for stock contractors, rodeo fans, and some of the rankest young animal athletes in the sport. This year, the iconic sale will look entirely different.
Due to strict equine quarantine protocols following the recent EHV related restrictions, the PRCA officially announced major changes to ensure the event can still take place safely in Vegas. While the sale will go on, the horses and bulls certainly won’t be making their usual trip to Las Vegas.

The sale will still be held on Friday, December 5, beginning at 10:00 a.m., but now in the South Point Showroom. This is the same room where the buckle ceremonies are typically hosted. A live auctioneer and full sale staff will still be present, giving the event its usual energy despite the absence of these exceptional animals onsite.
For decades, the Benny Binion Stock Sale has been a big part of NFR week, offering buyers the chance to see top-tier bucking horses and bulls in person and watch them showcase their abilities in live previews.
Many of today’s most recognizable animal athletes in rodeo first changed hands at this very sale. It’s not just a place to purchase stock with great potential, it's a big get together of the industry’s biggest names and a celebration of the future of rodeo and the livestock that make it what it is.
With strict temporary health protocols being enforced nationwide, no horses will be hauled into Las Vegas or transported for the sale. All delivery and transport will be arranged directly between buyers and sellers once restrictions are lifted and travel is deemed safe for the animals. This is a wise move however, as these animals' safety and health is most important.

In true rodeo fashion, the show must go on, and it will, even if a little differently this time around. This year’s Benny Binion Bucking Horse & Bull Sale may be missing some of the live energy but its legacy and great importance will remain. Once the equine world is cleared to travel again, these future bucking stars will finally make their way to their new homes with big careers ahead of them.
