For the longest time in 2025, the Dallas Cowboys couldn't get their act together. Preparing to go into their Week 10 bye week was perhaps the lowest moment, as they were dominated by the lowly Arizona Cardinals at AT&T Stadium, losing to a backup quarterback. The break did them well, because they shuffled their roster with new blood and players returning from injury and now look like a brand new team.
In just three weeks, the Cowboys have completely changed their fortunes, winning all three contests in a Monday-Sunday-Thursday gauntlet that defies the odds. The Cowboys have now defeated both Super Bowl teams from last year on just three days rest, taking down Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving by the score of 31-28.

The Chiefs scored on their opening drive in between the two, as the club put themselves in a hole once again. However Prescott recovered quickly, taking the Cowboys on a tying score, and then finding a rhythm that saw the offense hum the way it was intended to.
Prescott worked in WR CeeDee Lamb early, getting him in the game after a tough outing in the win over the Eagles. Lamb responded, as predicted, with a phenomenal game with seven catches for 112 yards and a score, plus another 55 yards on three different defensive pass interference penalties drawn. George Pickens checked in with six receptions of his own for 88 yards as Prescott three for 320 yards on the game. It's his second-straight game with at least 320 passing yards.
But the offensive explosion needed help, and after allowing the Chiefs to score on their first two possessions, the new-look defense bared down and stopped the Chiefs offense for a long stretch through the middle quarters. The Chiefs punted on four straight possessions, but that's Patrick Mahomes on the opposite sideline, and he would have his due.
Mahomes led two fourth-quarter scoring drives to bring the Chiefs within three points. The multiple-time MVP and future Hall of Famer threw for 261 yards and four scores, with no turnovers, despite relentless pressure from the Cowboys' new five-man front.

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer called three-straight first-down runs which were followed by successful pass plays to move the chains. When Pickens caught his sixth pass of the game to move the chains as the two-minute warning hit, the Cowboys were able to go into their famed Landry Shift victory formation and bleed out the clock.
The win moves the Cowboys to 6-5-1, their first time being above .500 this entire season, and keeps their miracle push to the playoffs alive. Dallas is far away from the seventh-seed, still, but have a matchup with the 7-5 Detroit Lions next Thursday to see what they can control.
