National Signing Day is six days away and Oklahoma recruiting is heating up. The Sooners picked up another massive commitment on Thanksgiving.

The SEC program has been in pursuit of Naples (Fla.) St. John Neumann four-star wide receiver Jayden Petit this fall and he’s now flipped his commitment from Wisconsin to OU. It’s the third flip this week for Brent Venables and Co.

Cibolo (Texas) Steele four-star running back Jonathan Hatton Jr., a one-time OU pledge and the No. 5 RB in the 2026 cycle, flipped his commitment back to the Sooners from Texas A&M on Monday. Two days later, Mesquite (Texas) Horn three-star safety Markel Ford flipped from SMU. Petit, the No. 26 WR nationally, is another massive addition.

The new commits have vaulted the Sooners up multiple spots to No. 15 in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

“The coaching staff and player development,” Petit told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong about why he chose Oklahoma. “The fanbase and the environment were also great!”

The Sooners now have 24 total commits. Petit becomes the ninth industry blue-chipper to enter the fold in Norman.

Oklahoma adds to impressive 2026 class

Standouts on the offensive side of the ball account for a bulk of OU’s top commits, but the highest-ranked prospect in the class remains IMG Academy (Fla.) four-star EDGE Jake Kreul. The No. 46 overall recruit in the cycle chose the Sooners on Aug. 12.

Celina (Texas) four-star quarterback Bowe Bentley was one of nine June commitments for the program and he’s continued to see his stock rise as a senior. The 6-foot-1 state champion is now the No. 70 recruit and No. 6 QB in the cycle. Bentley, Kreul and Hatton form an impressive trio at the top of the class.

Petit becomes receiver commit No. 5 for the Sooners. Bear (Del.) Appoquinimink four-star Jahsiear Rogers quickly locked in after decommitting from Penn State this fall. Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star Daniel Odom has been pledged since January. Lafayette (La.) Christian Rivals four-star Brayden Allen flipped from Tulane in October, while Owasso (Okla.) Rejoice Christian three-star Zizi Okwufulueze committed in September.

On the offensive line, Windsor (Colo.) four-star Deacon Schmitt is a top-200 prospect and the No. 13 IOL in the Rivals300. He and Midlothian (Texas) three-star IOL Noah Best are the lone listed O-linemen in the fold to date.

Lincoln City (Ind.) Heritage Hills Rivals four-star tight end Tyler Ruxer is now the No. 6 TE in the Rivals300. He and Allen are among quite a few Rivals outliers this fall. Oklahoma’s entire 2026 class can be seen here.
