Avengers: Doomsday gets a new tease. The Marvel Cinematic Universe's next movie is bound to be one of the biggest events the franchise has ever seen. The MCU managed to do what many thought was impossible, as the face of the franchise, Robert Downey Jr., is back to lead the cast of Avengers: Doomsday. However, he is playing Doctor Doom this time around.
Given his crucial role in the MCU movie timeline as Iron Man for over a decade, ever since Downey was announced as Victor von Doom, theories about how the actor could also be back as Tony Stark, or how Doctor Doom and Iron Man could be related, have become quite popular. Now, the two characters get a new tease ahead of the MCU's next movie.
On Instagram, Robert Downey Jr. has teased Avengers: Doomsday with a new image of Iron Man and Doctor Doom.
The comic book styled art does not show the characters' full bodies. Only Doctor Doom and Iron Man's shoulders and hands can be seen. The image is meant to celebrate Thanksgiving, with Doctor Doom and Iron Man breaking a turkey's wishbone, which is a holiday tradition for good luck.

The Avengers: Doomsday image comes at an interesting time. The Marvel movie has been one of the franchise's most secretive. Unlike many of the Multiverse Saga's releases, no significant set photos or videos of Avengers: Doomsday emerged online. With Marvel yet to release a trailer or concrete details, all that audiences know is the movie's confirmed cast, which is led by Downey.
However, that is set to change before 2025 comes to an end. According to a report from Collider, the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer will be released on December 19. The idea is to put it in theaters before screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. Given that both movies in the Avatar franchise have grossed over $2 billion worldwide, the Avengers: Doomsday trailer would be boosted.
As for the tease itself, this is not the first time that Downey has shared Doctor Doom art on his Instagram account. In May, RDJ shared the comic book DOOM #1 (2024), alongside other items dubbed "Doom workstation essentials."
On holidays, he posted Doctor Doom's mask full of chocolates for Valentine's Day, and his wife, Susan Downey, as Sue Storm from the Fantastic Four, with her mother, Rosie Levin, knitting Doctor Doom's costume for Mother's Day. As such, fans could possibly get another Doctor Doom tease from Downey when Christmas rolls around, though the Avengers: Doomsday trailer might already count as the perfect gift.
