Liverpool need to improve and fast. The club are sinking like a stone - suffering nine defeats in their last 12 matches.
PSV were the latest team to capitalise on the Premier League champions’ poor form - winning 4-1 at Anfield in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Arne Slot has been unable to arrest the decline with the players at his disposal and the Merseysiders may go back into the transfer market.

Slot is stuck with the same midfield options he had last season and the toll is beginning to tell on Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo.
Up top Cody Gakpo has been in indifferent form - leading to speculation that he could be replaced. Over on the other side Mo Salah may well be entering a declining phase of his career and the Reds need a threat from wide.
Perhaps the answer to both of these problems lies with Jurgen Klopp’s RB Leipzig.
Liverpool enter bidding for Yan Diomande
It’s been reported in the last couple of months that Liverpool are among the teams tracking Yan Diomande - their prodigiously talented attacker.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementDiomande has exploded into form in the past few weeks - scoring three goals and adding three assists in his last four Bundesliga outings.
The Ivorian is being discussed as a potential €100m signing and Liverpool - along with Paris Saint-Germain and the Premier League giants could well conduct a move.
The 19-year-old joined Red Bull from Leganes in summer 2025 for a relatively cheap fee of around £18m - signing a contract until 2030.
And if his career trajectory continues unimpeded then he could be the one to replace Salah.

Liverpool hunt Ouedraogo
The other player is Assan Ouedraogo - who was linked with Liverpool before swapping Schalke for Leipzig in summer 2024. His first season at the club was a write-off due to injury but this term he has been delivering on his potential.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementBILD writes that the teenager is on the radar of both Arsenal and Liverpool and could be subject of a €100m transfer battle. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund would also love to sign him - with Liverpool, Arsenal and Barcelona travelling to watch him in the flesh in recent weeks.
Currently out injured, the attacking midfielder is expected to be fit in time for the new year - and could well feature for Germany at the upcoming FIFA World Cup having recently broken into Julian Nagelsmann's team.
With Diomande also valued at around €100m, we could see two record-breaking Leipzig transfers at Liverpool in the months ahead with the club's current outgoing transfer record standing at €90m.
