Nov. 27—Tomislav Ivisic averaged nearly 27 minutes per game last season for Illinois and was effective in his time on the court. His 13 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game were critical to Illinois' success.

Ivisic is still working back toward that level of playing time and level of production. A tonsillectomy, following another round of illness, kept him out entirely for more than two weeks of practice, and a bone bruise to his knee cost him three games. The 7-foot-1 center is averaging just 20 minutes on the court so far this season and putting up 10.8 points and four rebounds per game.

"I think it's more about practice for him than it is the games," Illinois coach Brad Underwood said. "He hit a couple shots (Monday) night and is shooting 40 percent from three. His numbers are phenomenal. I think we had 20 points and 12 rebounds from him and (twin brother Zvonimir Ivisic against UT Rio Grande Valley). Sign me up for that every night.

"It may look a little different than what it did last year, but it's still really productive and we're fortunate that we've got Z and we've got (David Mirkovic) and guys who have been performing at a pretty high level while he's on his way back. He doesn't have to be the guy. He just needs to fit into his role and keep doing what he's doing, and all that stuff will work out."
