Where’s the beef — FC Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski mired in cafeteria controversy?

Barca Universal put out a wild tweet (since deleted) regarding former Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski and his alleged astonishment that FC Barcelona did not offer any meat in its menu…because of the cost.

🚨 Lewandowski was shocked to find out that Barça did not have meat options in their menu because they were too expensive. 🥩🤑

• The striker joined the team’s training camp in Florida when he joined from Bayern Münich in 2022

• In his first meal, he was shocked to find that they did not have any meat or fish available

• He asked the chef, and got told that ‘the club needed to save money’

• It was not a bad reaction, he didn’t mind, but he was very surprised

• Lewandowski is a very picky eater, and notices when food ingredients are not high quality

• Since then, Barcelona have now re-established the meat and fish options in their menus

As glorious as this story would have been, the actual author is throwing cold water on it. Sebastian Staszewski fired back on X to ensure that everyone knows that story — as great as it is — is not fully true. Lewandowski was only stunned at the lack of options on the menu, not the lack of meat:

Guys, but this is not true! He was surprised that there is NOT MUCH CHOICE like in Bayern, not that there were no meat in Barca menu🤯🤯🤯🤯😅
