Chiefs activate veteran DB, rookie OL for Thanksgiving tilt vs Cowboys

The Kansas City Chiefs activated veteran defensive back Mike Edwards and rookie offensive lineman Esa Pole from their practice squad before playing the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on Thanksgiving Day.

Edwards was a member of Kansas City's Super Bowl LV and LVIII rosters and has been a reliable contributor for defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo in must-win games.

Pole signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent earlier this year and was briefly a member of the New York Jets after Kansas City waived him during its roster cuts in August.

The Chiefs announced their decision to activate Edwards and Pole in a post on Twitter:

While it is unclear if Edwards and Pole will actually take the field to play a snap in today's game, their addition to Kansas City's active roster will help the Chiefs maintain flexibility on both sides of the ball.
