ABERDEEN, S.D. (NSU) – Northern State started its NSIC portion of the season with a 65-48 loss to the University of Jamestown. In the game, the Wolves tallied 48 points, 37 rebounds, 10 assists, eight steals and three blocks, and committed 20 turnovers.   • The Wolves took their first lead of the game in the first two minutes of action with a layup by Megan Counts (assisted by Taylor Tool)

  • Tool followed up with a basket of her own shortly after

  • The first quarter remained back and forth before an Izzy Moore jumper brought the game back within two at 18-16 at the end of the first quarter

  • Moore dropped 17 points in the opener and tallied seven rebounds, three assists and two steals through the game (led the team in all categories)

  • The second quarter was a defensive battle, with both teams scoring ten points and shooting below 30% from the field

  • Northern retook the lead in the third quarter and held a game-high lead for the team with four points (courtesy of a Morgan Fiedler bucket)

  • Fiedler finished with nine points, one assist, two steals and a block

  • Entering the fourth quarter trailing 47-42, NSU was unable to retake the lead, scoring six points in the final ten minutes

  • Tool tied Moore’s game-high of three assists while scoring four points of her own, and Telia Graham recorded seven rebounds in the battle (game-high, tied with Moore)

  • For the Jimmies, four players scored at least 10 points: Daviney Dreckman (15), Emily Kurkowski (14), Haidyn Crockett (11) and Samantha Paulsen (ten)

  • With her 10 points, Paulsen recorded four steals to pair with her six rebounds

  • As a team, Jamestown shot 42.1% from the field, 38.9% from range and 76.9% from the free-throw line

  • Three Jimmies (Dreckman, Kurkowski and Crockett) shot over 40% from beyond the arc
