The Toronto Blue Jays almost won their third World Series title for their franchise this season, but ended falling short in Game Seven. They weren’t a match for the Los Angeles Dodgers' super rotation, and that’s the first thing they’ve addressed this offseason.

“Right-hander Dylan Cease and the Toronto Blue Jays are in agreement on a seven-year, $210 million contract, pending a physical, sources tell ESPN. The defending American League champions get one of the best arms on the free agent market,” Passan posted on X.
This past season, Cease posted a 4.55 ERA, 215 Ks, and a WHIP of 1.327 over 168 innings pitched. However, his advanced stats show he’s worth the money, with a FIP of 3.56 and a K/9 of 11.5.

If Cease has a bounce-back season, pairing him up with a sophomore Trey Yesavage will create a nasty 1-2 punch. And with a supporting cast of Shane Bieber and Kevin Gausman, the Jays arguably have one of the best rotations in the American League.
Hopefully, the Jays still are competitive this offseason and go out and land one more superstar to lock themselves into back-to-back World Series appearances.
