The New Orleans Saints play the Miami Dolphins in Week 13 of the NFL season and will look to bounce back from a rough loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementBut, they might have to do so without Alvin Kamara, as the star veteran running back is dealing with an injury that's putting his Week 13 status at risk. Unfortunately, things got worse for the saints on Wednesday.
According to Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football, the Saints saw wide receiver Chris Olave leave practice early, with what was later described as a back injury by head coach Kellen Moore. There's now a real concern for Olave's status for Week 13.

"WR Chris oalve left practice early with an unspecified issue during the portion open to media Wednesday," Triplett reports. "... Saints coach Kellen Moore announced WR Chris Olave as limited with a back injury."
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThis update from the Saints' practice facility could be a brutal one, as back issues are difficult injuries to manage. If this issue lingers, Olave could wind up missing the Saints' Week 13 matchup against the Dolphins.
Olave has 69 receptions for 734 yards and four touchdowns this season. If he were to miss a game, then New Orleans would be down to Devaughn Vele, Mason Tipton Jr., and Kevin Austin Jr. as the only healthy receivers.

While Olave isn't ruled out for Week 13, nor did Moore go into too great of detail about the issue, Olave's status for Week 13 after this injury scare in practice is very much in jeopardy.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementNew Orleans and Olave are trying to work out a contract extension, and while they would love for him to suit up in Week 13, the Saints have no reason to rush Olave back, as they've all but been eliminated from playoff contention.
This injury will be one to follow the rest of the week very closely, as Olave, the number one receiver for Tyler Shough, might have to miss some time with a back issue based on his early departures from Wednesday's practice.
