Fortnite Login Issue Resolved

Fortnite Status noted that the Fortnite login issue has now been resolved.

Fortnite and the Epic Games Store are currently down for many players, causing widespread issues with logging in to play the game or using other Epic services. This follows previous outages and server issues within the past couple of months, but this time, the issue didn't arrive in conjunction with a major live event.

The official Fortnite Status X account confirmed the login issues at 12:51 PM, noting that the problem was currently being investigated. A follow-up has been promised "once the issue has been resolved," but no such fix has yet gone live.

Fortnite & Other Epic Games Are Down

The login problem extends beyond Fortnite, also blocking access to other games under Epic's purview, like Rocket League and Fall Guys. Issues may not even be localized to Epic, as Downdetector notes a recent spike in outages with major services like Cloudflare. Issues can also be seen on tracking pages for games like Battlefield 6, which are entirely unconnected to Epic, but problems elsewhere may not be as severe.

Depending on the source of the issue, providing a quick fix may or may not be within Epic's power. Even without a direct fix, the login struggles may already be stabilizing to some degree, and certain users have been able to make it into the game. Issues also seem to be generally confined to logins, so anyone already in-game shouldn't get kicked out.

When Will Fortnite Servers Be Back Up?

Fortnite outages typically don't last more than a few hours, so if a straightforward fix is available to Epic, it shouldn't be long before logins stabilize. That being said, since the nature of the problem is still undisclosed, there's no guarantee that the situation will resolve quickly.

During the time of the outage, Epic has also provided updates that the investigation is ongoing on the Epic Games status website. As soon as the situation is fully resolved, this site should update to establish that logins are now stable.

This article will also be updated when Fortnite and Epic Games login functionality is fully restored, or when Epic Games provides any other major updates to the ongoing situation. Hopefully, those locked out of any games won't have much longer to wait until Fortnite servers and other Epic Games services are back up.
