Through the 2024-25 season, the Los Angeles Lakers have had a total of 506 players suit up for them, going back to their days in Minneapolis. Some were forgettable, some were serviceable, some were good and a select few were flat-out legendary.

During the Lakers' 80th season of existence (they were founded back in 1946 as the Detroit Gems in the National Basketball League), LeBron Wire is taking a look at each player who has worn their jersey, whether it has been a purple and gold one or the ones they donned back in the Midwest during their early years.

In 1951, the Lakers took 6-foot-5 forward Dick Schnittker in the NBA dispersal draft after he had spent the 1950-51 season, his rookie year in the league, with the Washington Capitols. He didn't join the Lakers until 1953, as he spent some time in the military, but he came on board just in time to win NBA championships in 1953 and 1954 with them during the George Mikan era.

Schnittker left the Lakers and retired from the NBA following the 1957-58 campaign. He ended up with career averages of 8.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in 20.1 minutes a game.
